Food Pantry Emergency Assistance

If you need emergency food assistance and you cannot go to your county's Department of Health and Human Services or a nearby church to obtain a referrral for the Catholic Parish Outreach (CPO) Food Pantry, please visit the Hispanic Famiy Center, where we will be able to assist you in this area.

Hours for Food Pantry Emergency Assistance Referrals: Monday - Friday, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.

Information & Referral Services for other Community Agencies

The Center can also help you find assistance in other areas through our information and referral service program. We will help you locate community resources to fulfill your immedate needs and address any other family, health, or financial concern that you may have. To receive these services, please visit the Hispanic Family Center, where we will answer your questions and help you find the assistance that you or your family may need.

Hour for Information and Referral Services: Monday - Thursday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Fridays, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Bilingual Counseling

Our Licensed Counselor offers counseling and support services to individuals, couples, families, and groups. The most common areas of help are:

Our services are available to all people regardless of race, religion, background or socio-economic situation. Therapy sessions are private and confidential, according to federal and state law and respecting the ethics code of the National Association of Social Workers Association and Catholic Charities. There is a cost for counseling services. Catholic Charities accepts most health insurance providers and Medicaid. For people who do not have health insurance, we charge a subsidized cost, based on the income and size of the household.

After-School and Tutoring Program

The After-school and Tutoring Program is designed to assist elementary school children who require additional help to succeed in school and to mantain the reading level appropriate to their grade level. To reach this goal, we work closely in collaboration with public school teachers.

Hour for the After-school and Tutoring Program: Tuesday and Thursday, 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

While children are receiving tutoring services, parents have the option to participate in basic English classes. We also offer childcare services for parents who wish to participate in English classes without distractions.

This program has no cost but vacancies are limited. The program begins and ends according to the traditional public school calendar.

Assistance with Food Stamps and Medicaid Applications

The Hispanic Family Center has been certified by "The Benefit Bank" to assist families with the Food Stamp and Medicaid application process.

To obtain assistance with these services, you can visit the Center on Wednesdays, from 2:30 to 5:00 pm, with a COPY of the following documentation:

Tax Preparation

Every year during tax season (February-April) The Center offers free tax preparation services for low-income individuals and families. This service is offered through the AARP Foundation, a volunteer organization dedicated to preparing taxes free of charge to low-income families. Dates and times of these services will be anounced at The Center before the beginning of each tax season.
